Well, coming up here, you might have successfully imported the eStory demo to your WordPress website. Now, you might be wondering how to edit or replace the demo content, images, header, footer, templates, and more with your own.
eStory theme does not come with Customize, Widgets, and other customizable options. It provides a place named Editor, from where you can customize the whole website.
All the customization options can be achieved via the Edit Site option available within the theme.
Open Site Editor #
Once the theme is activated and the demo is imported to your site, navigate to WordPress Dashboard > Appererances > Editor. It will open the space where you can customize the site.
If you are in the frontend of your site, you will see the Edit Site option on the WP Admin bar at the top. Click on the option, which will redirect you to the space where you can customize the site. You can choose the options available on the edit site for customizing the eStory site.
Editing the Home Page of the eStory Demo #
After importing the demo, it is necessary to change the existing dummy content and replace it with your content. Once you have imported the eStory demo, all the contents and images get imported to your site.
In this guideline, we import the eStory demo along with step by step explanation on editing the content after you have imported it.
Edit Header #
The header of the eStory theme contains the Site Logo, Site Title, Site Tagline, Primary Menu, and Social Icons. These are added via available blocks.
For editing the blocks, follow the steps below:
- Click on the WordPress Icon from the top left corner of the site editor.
- Choose the Templates Parts > Header.
Edit Site Logo #
Clicking on the Site Logo Block will display a toolbar with different settings that apply to the Site Logo. For changing the Site Logo, click on the Replace option from the toolbar and upload the appropriate image as a Site Logo.
For other settings and customization, navigate to the right sidebar, where you find different settings like Styles, Image Width, Option to Enable/Disable Link Image, etc.
Edit Site Title and Tagline #
The Site Title and Tagline Block lies next to the Site Logo. Click on the title, which allows you to change the Site Title.
Upon clicking the Site Title, a toolbox also appears, with various options like changing the Block Styles, Heading Tags, Text Alignments, etc. Likewise, navigating to the right sidebar includes options such as Link Settings, Color, Typography, Dimensions, etc.
Similarly, click on the existing tagline text to change the Site Tagline. Likewise, a toolbox appears that has different settings like Block Styles, Text Alignments, etc.
Navigating to the right sidebar will provide other customization options such as Color, Typography, Dimensions, etc.
Edit Primary Menu #
The eStory demo provides the Primary Menu Block on the right side of the header. After navigating to Templates Parts > Header, click on the individual menu items to change the name of the menu items.
While clicking on the menu items, a toolbar appears with different settings that apply just to the specific menu item. You can change the menu item’s settings like Add Menu Link, Move Menu Items, Add Submenu, etc.
On the right sidebar, you will find the customization options for the primary menu like Layout, Color, Typography, Dimensions, Border Width, etc.
Edit Social Icons #
The Social Icons Block appears next to the primary menu. Click on the specific social icon, which will display a toolbar with different settings that applies just to the chosen icon. The settings include Change Social Icon, Move Social Icon, Justification, etc.
On the right sidebar, you will find the customization options for the social icons like Styles, Layout, Link Settings, Color, etc.
Edit Content #
As you navigate the site’s content area, you will see a heading on the left and a search placeholder on the right. The whole section is designed using columns.
Clicking on the heading section (Discover Your Story) will display a toolbar where you get the specific settings to customize the heading. Likewise, on the right sidebar, you will find other settings such as Color, Typography, Appearance, etc.
Similarly, on the right side, a Search Widget is added. Clicking on the search placeholder will display the toolbar for customizing the search widgets. Likewise, for more settings, you can navigate to the right sidebar, which provides options such as Display Settings, Color, Border, Radius, etc.

Edit Footer #
With the demo imported, you will see the Site Logo, Menu, and Copyright sections in the Footer area. For editing the blocks, follow the steps below:
- Click on the WordPress Icon from the top left corner of the site editor.
- Choose the Templates Parts > Footer.
Click on the respective block that will display the toolbar at the button and customization section on the right sidebar. You can make the changes according to the site requirement from the customization options available.
